CROS Spearheads Wellness Activity in Cabiao

Over 100 beneficiaries from two barangays in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija joined and benefitted from the wellness activity organized by the PUP Extension Management Office last June 7-8. The Community Relations and Outreach Services (CROS) arm of the EMO spearheaded this activity comprised of a wellness talk and various wellness activities.

CROS Chief, Aira Austria, discussed the importance of physical activities in the time of the pandemic. She also emphasized the importance of parents keeping in touch with their children as the pandemic has brought challenges to mental health, especially to the teens.

Dennis Pongco, Chairman of Barangay San Roque, thanked the University for this effort: “We are thankful for the PUP personnel who have given us a reminder on physical health that is a big help to our Barangay.” Barangay Sta. Ines is the other barangay which benefitted from the program.

This activity is part of the University’s Lingap Komunidad, the flagship outreach program of our Sintang Paaralan. Other face-to-face extension activities are gradually being implemented given lighter mobility restrictions amid the pandemic. Still, the University remains vigilant in actively following health and safety protocols in all of its community outreach and engagement programs.
